I would like to know the rationale behind not making distributed rendering
(render modules) available for the Amiga/Toaster upgrade to 4.0.  I've been
told all along that same-platform render modules (render on one machine &
model on another, or render on both) would become available with the 4.0
version of Lightwave.  I did not jump ship and buy a PC.  I didn't buy
Amiga standalone.  I didn't buy a flyer.  I kept my Amiga/Toaster and
bought a PAR.  Then I bought a used Amiga so I would be able to model and
render simultaneously, or use both machines to render.  Certainly not the
fastest setup, but two 040 Amigas would render in half the time of one.
I have a toaster in one machine, and was expecting to upgrade my Toaster
software to 4.0 and have the render module to allow lightwave rendering on
the second machine.  Lately, I'm hearing this won't be possible.  It has
been said there will be no render module for the Amiga. (Does this include
the SA version?)  It seems to me there would be no Newtek without the Amiga
users who have stood by Newtek from the beginning (Digi-View, Digi-Paint,
Video Toaster).  Please tell me we aren't being abandoned.  Tell me I didn't
waste money buying a second Amiga.

So what are my options?

1. Pay to upgrade the toaster software and pay again to buy Amiga LW 4.0 SA.
2. Pay to upgrade the toaster software and buy a PC and buy PC LW 4.0.
3. Stay with 3.1/3.5 Toaster software and buy Amiga LW 4.0 SA.

The first two options are too expensive for me (trying to turn this hobby
into a business).  The third option leaves me running two versions of LW
and not getting the new Toaster features.  Am I missing something here?
(Besides the ability to read between the lines when Newtek said they were
not abandoning the Amiga market.  I guess unequal treatment is not the
same as being abandoned.)
